The Museum is one of the area’s most unique and affordably priced venues for hosting your unforgettable event. The museum can host your child’s birthday party, Weddings and Receptions, Business & Corporate events, and other private occasions. Facility rental discounts are available to members and active duty military.
The Texas Maritime Museum Education Center is a great place to host your child’s next birthday party! Bring your child for a Pirate Party or a fancy Princess Party. All you have to do is send out your invitations, bring your birthday cake and prepare for a fun filled time. We’ll take care of the rest!

Weddings, Receptions and Private Events
What better place for your group to celebrate and entertain than surrounded by Texas history. Weddings and receptions, groups, civic and professional organizations, businesses and corporations will find the Texas Maritime Museum the ideal site for their special event.
The Museum and grounds are available for after-hours rentals. The galleries will remain open for viewing during all events, allowing your party to explore. Included in your museum rental is the Maritime Collections & Education center which can seat 120 guests or 140 standing. If you have a larger party in mind the grounds can accommodate tents and outdoor seating. The Museum and grounds has room for up to 350 guests. The Collections and Education center has a small caterers kitchen available.
A member of the museum staff will be present during the entire time of the event for security and any other issues that may arise.
$50 hr for private organizations. Includes set-up and take-down time. A $100 deposit required to secure the date, and will be applied to final bill upon inspection of the museum by the staff.
$25 hr for 501(c)3 and 501(c)6 non-profit organizations and military weddings. A $25 deposit is required to secure the date and will be applied to the final bill upon inspection of the museum by the staff.
The rental fee does not include table and chairs. The Museum has eight, 8 foot banquet tables available for rent for $3 ea, and metal folding chairs available for a rental fee of $5 for ten chairs. All other equipment must be brought in. There are no restrictions on vendors, however the Museum has policies regarding the type of foods and beverages that may be served.

We were honored to host members Lillyan Baker and Trey Duck’s wedding rehearsal dinner. This is an example of what can be done in the main gallery area. We hosted a seated dinner for 50 people. Let us make your next event something special!
