Member Exclusive Opening Reception

Be among the first to experience history at our Member Exclusive Exhibit Opening Reception for War & Peace on the Rio Grande, 1861-186 on Thursday, April 23, 2026, from 5:00 to 6:00 PM. This special, members-only event is our way of celebrating the supporters who make exhibits like this possible.

Enjoy an intimate first look at this compelling new exhibit while savoring light refreshments and wine in the museum’s main gallery. Members will also have the rare opportunity to meet and engage with distinguished scholars behind the exhibit, including Roseann Bacha-Garza, Christopher L. Miller, PhD, and Russell K. Skowronek, PhD, renowned leaders of the CHAPS Program at the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley.

Following the reception, members are invited to stay for a 6:00 PM public presentation that will further explore the exhibit’s key themes, offering deeper historical context and insight into this fascinating period along the Rio Grande.
