Pirate Pet Adoption Event

Ahoy, animal lovers and adventure seekers! The Texas Maritime Museum is excited to announce its upcoming “Pirate Pets” adoption event, in collaboration with the Aransas County Animal Shelter and the Humane Society of Aransas County. This family-friendly event will take place on Saturday, October 5, 2024, from 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM at the Texas Maritime Museum grounds, located at 1202 Navigation Circle, adjacent to Rockport Harbor.

The “Pirate Pets” event promises a day of swashbuckling fun, featuring a lively pirate-themed atmosphere where you can meet and adopt the newest furry member of your crew. Attendees will enjoy:

Meet-and-Greet with Adoptable Pets: Aransas County Animal Care and the Humane Society & Adoption Center of Rockport-Fulton will bring a variety of pets looking for their forever homes.

Pirate Costume Contest: Dress up in your finest pirate gear for a chance to win a prize. There will be separate categories for children and adults. Judging will be held at 1:00 PM.

Treasure Hunt: Engage in a thrilling treasure hunt around the museum, with clues leading to exciting prizes and surprises for kids.

“We’re thrilled to partner with the Aransas County Animal Care and the Humane Society for this exciting event,” said Michael Ables, Executive Director of the Texas Maritime  Museum. “Our goal is not only to find loving homes for these wonderful pets but also to bring our community together for a fun and memorable experience.”

The “Pirate Pets” adoption event is free to attend, and all are welcome. Adoption fees will vary depending on the pet and are payable directly to the respective shelters.
