The Texas Maritime Museum is proud to announce that it has been named the 2024–2025 Nonprofit Member of the Year by the Rockport-Fulton Chamber of Commerce. The prestigious award was presented at the Chamber’s Changing of the Gavel Annual Banquet held at the Fulton Convention Center on Tuesday, June 17th.
This recognition reflects a transformative year for the museum, marked by deepened community engagement, increased visibility, and a continued commitment to fostering cultural enrichment throughout the Rockport-Fulton area. The museum has focused its efforts on expanding programs, strengthening partnerships, and becoming a gathering place for the community to learn about and celebrate its maritime history.
“We are incredibly honored and humbled to receive the Nonprofit Member of the Year award from the Rockport-Fulton Chamber of Commerce,” said Executive Director, Michael Ables. “This recognition means the world to our team, who have worked passionately to grow our presence and impact in the community. We are grateful to the Chamber for their support and partnership, and we’re excited about what the future holds. Our goal is to continue growing as a cultural anchor for this region — a place where history and community come together in meaningful ways.”
